About
A wash that went straight through
Casavio Archive is a sole proprietorship based in Gurugram, Haryana, operating online as Casavio Archive (casavioarchive.shop).
How this started
A first proper watercolour attempt on a pad bought in Gurugram because it said ‘mixed media’ on the cover. The first wash went through the sheet and buckled it into a shape no amount of pressing fixed.
The pad was 120 gsm. Nothing on the front had said so in a size anyone would read, and nothing had explained that a wash needs at least 200. One number, printed clearly, would have saved the paper and the afternoon.
Nobody is discouraged by their own drawing as often as they are discouraged by the wrong paper.
Our commitment
GSM on the front of every listing
Not in a specification table three scrolls down. The weight decides what the paper can take, so it belongs where you can see it.
Surface described in words
Smooth, fine-tooth or rough, and what each one does to graphite, ink and a wash. ‘Premium quality paper’ is not a surface.
Sheet count that is sheets
We list sheets, not sides. A pad advertised as 100 pages and delivering 50 sheets is the oldest trick in this category.
Our story
The range is short and organised by what you will do on the paper rather than by brand: dry media, mixed media, and paper that will take real water. Every pad has been drawn on and washed here before it was listed.
We sell paper and books, not pigment. Paints and inks are worth buying where you can see the swatch, and they travel badly in an Indian summer.
Online only
There is no showroom and no walk-in counter. Casavio Archive trades entirely online and ships across India from Gurugram, Haryana, which keeps overheads off the price of the goods.
